Today I am going to share a favorite blogger and a great project.
I am not sure how many of your are familiar with Dan Pearce over at Single Dad Laughing. I ran across his blog about a year or ago and have been an avid reader ever since. My friends that know me well, will most likely tell you that besides my guilty pleasure, Rants from Mommyland, I tend to stick to pinterest and craft blogs. To find a blog that is not crafty, let alone a blog written by a dad, that I can not only relate to but enjoy reading is a rare experience for me.
SDL is honest and funny. He seems to truly care about what his readers think and say and when Dan recently came out to the world about his sexuality in a public manner it touched my heart. I think just about everyone has been put in a position where they had a big secret they felt that they could not tell anyone. Something that confuses them and makes them re-think their world. Not many of us have the courage to tell people we love let alone the courage to tell the world in a blog with thousands of readers.
A day or so later Dan wrote a post about the "outpouring of love" he received in his darkest hour, and included a little tidbit about a project called Love Is Louder. After learning more about the Love is Louder project I was inspired. Love is louder is all about getting through the tough times. Whether is be a break up, financial hardship, abuse, coming out of the closet, bullying, etc... It is just there for a short time. It is a circumstance to get through and makes you that much stronger!
Folks write love is louder on their hands and post pictures with their stories for inspiration to other people. But not everyone can walk around with Love is Louder on their hand all the time. Sometimes you just need a daily reminder hanging there on your mirror or on your wall.
